Payment Options

Affordable Payment Plans

We offer a variety of payment options to meet your financial needs. Our in-house payment plan consists of an initial down payment with the remaining balance divided into equal monthly payments, without interest. In order to make payment arrangements as convenient as possible, we offer at no additional charge, auto-debit service from a checking or savings account or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express). These options save both time and money for our patients... no checks to write or stamps to buy!

We also offer a bookkeeping discount for payments made in full at the start treatment. We will discuss with you the cost of your treatment and each available payment plan option, so that you can make the best choice for you and your smile.

We are contracted as a Premier Provider for Delta Dental. All other plans are considered out-of-network and the out of pocket expense for you may be much higher than anticipated. Please be aware that the information we receive from your insurance carrier at the time of service may not always be accurate. We strongly encourage you to research your dental plans and speak to your insurance administrator and insurance carrier representative for a better understanding of how benefits are calculated based on using a non-contracted provider.

As a courtesy to our patients, we will file your insurance claim for you and do our best to help you receive your maximum orthodontic benefit. There are many different agreements between insurance carriers and their subscribers; each contract provides a different level of benefit. Orthodontic insurance differs from regular dental insurance in that each insured individual usually has a lifetime maximum benefit. This benefit is normally paid over a period of treatment time rather than at the beginning of treatment.

Our primary financial relationship is with our patients or their families and not with the insurance companies. Financial arrangements can be made based on your estimated insurance benefit; however, any outstanding insurance claims not paid by the insurance company are the responsibility of the patient or the responsible party.

Flexible Spending Accounts

Many employers offer a plan where pre-tax dollars can be set aside once a year for out-of-pocket medical expenses commonly referred to as ‘Flex’ or ‘Cafeteria’ plans. If you have such a plan at work, please contact your Human Resources Department for details. While details on how to best utilize your specific plan should be determined by you and your benefits specialist, we will be happy to provide you with receipts for your payments or with any other information your company requires.

Scheduling and Appointments

Most people seeking orthodontic treatment have important obligations such as school or work during the day. Since it is impossible for us to see all of our patients either before or after school or work, we have made the following policy:

  • We have put a great deal of effort into designing our schedule. It is our goal to see you on time for your appointment, and we want to have plenty of time during each appointment to do the necessary treatment, give you information about the treatment, and answer any questions you may have.
  • We schedule longer appointments (placing braces and removing them) in the morning. These appointments usually take 1-2 hours. We can then schedule shorter appointments in the afternoon. By doing this, we do not reserve an entire afternoon for one or two patients but rather accommodate as many families as possible for after-school appointments.
  • If you prefer to come to the office during a quieter time, please schedule an appointment during school hours.
  • If you have an emergency, we will usually need to take care of it in the morning, to give you the first available appointment.
  • Because the schedule is carefully crafted, your late arrival can pose a problem. In fairness to the other scheduled patients, we may reschedule your appointment if you are more than 10 minutes late. It may be possible for you to wait for an opening in the schedule, but we make no guarantees.
  • We realize that at times, circumstances beyond your control can cause a conflict with your scheduled appointment. An appointment that is not cancelled and rescheduled is considered a broken appointment. Broken appointments can lead to extended treatment and subsequent extended treatment fees. Please cancel only if it is an emergency. It is difficult to reschedule an appointment since they are generally scheduled 6 to 8 weeks in advance.
